We had such a great time last year, we’re doing it again!

Meet your legislators and staff! Connect with patients, families and other supporters! Explore the Capitol! Enjoy lunch! And more!
Cannabis Patients Alliance is inviting medical marijuana patients, families and supporters to meet their 2016 Colorado State Legislators and staff at Cannabis Patients Alliance Day at the Capitol!
Patients will be facing many policy issues this year. Bills affecting employment, family rights, medical care, testing and more are in the pipeline. It’s important that the elected officials making these decisions know who those decisions will affect and how.
This is an opportunity to put a face to what it means to be a medical marijuana patient in Colorado. Tell your story. Share your experiences. Be respectful.
Please RSVP so we are prepared to accommodate all the attendees at: https://www.eventbrite.com/e/2016-cannabis-patients-day-at-the-capitol-tickets-20259884861
Come in advance and watch the Senate and House proceedings from the Gallery. Weather permitting, we’ll head outside at 10:30 for our Peace for Patients Dove Release on the Capitol steps. Then it’s back inside to Room 109 (basement) to join other patients and supporters from 11:00 to 2:00 p.m.
Families and kids are welcome. Feel free to stay all day or just drop by for a visit.
9:00: Senate and House start the day’s session. Announcement of Cannabis Patients Alliance Day at the Capitol. For those coming early for this, please meet at the House Gallery at 9:00.
10:30: Peace for Patients Dove Release on the west steps of the Capitol. Reserve your bird today!
11:00: Gather in Room 109 (Basement, between the elevators). Like last year, we’ll be in a small room, so expect to be spilling out into the marble halls.
12:00: Food! Thank you Sexy Pizza!
11:00 – 2:00: Legislators, staff and VIPs will be stopping by Room 109 to meet and chat with patients. Let your Senator and Representative know you’ll be there and invite them to come down for lunch and a chat. If you don’t know who your elected representatives are, there’s a link to a tool to help you on our web site.
We’ll have people available to help you find your Senator’s and Representative’s offices, so you can stop by and visit them as well. Find your Colorado legislator here.
Visit the Capitol Bookstore. We highly recommend Sen. Morgan Carroll’s book “Take Back Your Government: A Citizen’s Guide to Grassroots Change.”
Take time to look around. FREE tours of the Capitol are available on the hour (approximately 45 minutes long) from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. The dome should be open this year.
It’s okay if you can’t stay all day. Stop by just to show your support.
Please be aware: This is NOT a protest or rally. This is NOT a hearing or time for public comment. This ISÂ an opportunity for medical marijuana patients and supporters to talk face to face with elected officials about issues they face each and every day in a casual environment without the pressure of testifying at a hearing.
