It is estimated that every day 22 veterans take their lives due to Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder. Join Cannabis Patients Alliance at the Colorado State Capitol when we remember the 22 veterans we lose to suicide each day with a 22-Dove Release from the West Steps.
DATE: TBD
The date of the release is yet to be determined. It will be set after SB17-017 has completed it’s journey through the process and is officially a law.
DON’T WAIT! RESERVE A DOVE TODAY!
SB17-017, the bill to add PTSD to the list of qualifying conditions for medical marijuana, has made it through the Senate and had its first hearing in the House on March 8, 2017. It will be debated on the House floor the week of March 13. We fully expect to be celebrating its successful passage!
We know that Post-Traumatic Stress isn’t just about combat veterans. It’s estimated that 7.8% of Americans, or 24.4 million people, suffer from PTSD. Women experience PTSD at rates more than double that of men (10.4% women, 5% men). While men are more likely to experience PTSD as a result of accidents, disasters and combat, PTSD in women is more likely a result of sexual assault and childhood sexual abuse.
